February UFO is done

I did indeed finish the 1c Seaside Rose sweatshirt jacket and I wore it to a bridal shower. There was a fellow quilter there and she asked me all kinds of technique questions, which was fine. This conversation baffled everyone else, but we were good. The sweatshirt is indeed very comfortable and cuddly. I already know what I want to do for the next two!

My goal right now is to clean off the table I will use to baste a quilt so I can, in fact, baste a quilt. The 11b Australia fabrics quilt is still there waiting to go and I just need to clean off this table. And go buy more spray baste, but that’s beside the point. I want to get that quilt basted and ready to quilt by tomorrow night, so that I can quilt 6 lines each night until it’s quilted. I have a very busy 2 weeks ahead of me and if I have something simple and ready to go, there’s hope.

I also completed:

12 Chiclets blocks, plus 12 more centers
6 Old Navy blocks

And I’m up to date with all of my BOMS.

kwiltnkats said...: That must be a very big quilt you are quilting; either that or not too wide of a quilting line. Maybe I'm confusing a line with a pass across the quilt? Look forward to seeing it soon. Your UFO project is charming in the colors you used. I can just see the two of you talking and the blank looks on the rest of the group. Often happens with me too! Glossary - Makes this blog a bit easier to read

I quilt. A lot. And so there are some terms you need to know.

* - indicates a Stashbuster challenge, in fact or in spirit.

UFO* - Unfinished Object. A project abandoned for over a year or more or over the year end.
WIP* - Work in Progress. A current project that's being produced.
WHIMM* - Work Hidden in My Mind - An idea that needs to be committed to cloth. Then it's a WIP. If abandoned, then a UFO.
Becky - My cousin, who gave me her large stash when she decided that fabric was no longer her medium of choice. She is a professional artist, currently focusing in sculpture.
QBW - Quilting By Week. How I measure and track my progress on my voluminous lists of projects.
Week - The week starts when my work week ends. If I’m done at noon on Friday, well then, that’s when the week starts. The week ends when I arrive at work on that last day of my work week. Typically the week ends on Friday morning and then the new one starts on Friday afternoon.
CSA - Community Supported Agriculture. Where people buy shares in a local farmer's crop. The farmer can farm to his standards, and the shareholders get wonderful fresh produce.

QAYG - Quilt as you go. A process by which quilts are assembled into mini-quilt sandwiches and attached together at the end.

D9P - Disappearing 9 Patch. A block made by making a 9 patch and cutting it in half both lengthwise and width wise. Then take those 4 pieces, twist them around and sew them back together in a manner pleasing to you.
